Christmas is in the near future and there are plenty of merry events licensed to help you celebrate.

On Nov. 12th, the Legendary Christmas Tree Lighting took place at the Legends Outlet from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Every year, a 45-foot Christmas tree is placed in the center of the legends, in front of the AMC movie theaters. This year, there was a new LED lightshow synchronized with music. There was also a live concert, face painting, prize giveaways, photos with Santa, hot chocolate, and so much more with no cost. If you missed out, no worries because the tree will still be lit up until early January. The activities are no longer in business, but you can still take some great pictures.

However, if taking pictures in front of a massive tree is not on your to-do list, there are still many other ongoing events, as well as some that have not happened yet.

Crown Center will be hosting Holiday Choirs starting on Nov. 28 all the way up to Dec. 18. Nearly 100 area school, church, and community choirs perform everyday. These showings will be located in the Crown Center Atrium, each lasting one hour, with no charge.

As well as the Holiday Choirs, Crown Center is also hosting an Ice terrace. It will start Nov. 4 and end Mar. 12. You are allowed a duration of one to two hours. Their season hours for Nov. Dec. and Jan. are Sun. through Thurs., 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Fri. and Sat., 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. These hours can change without warning so be sure to check their website the day of for schedule changes. Unfortunately, this event is not free, however, season passes are available for $120. Otherwise, the admission cost for adults and children over the age of 4 is $8. Anyone who is 12 or under must be accompanied by an adult. The cost of skate rentals is $5. Come out and help Crown Center celebrate their 50th season of the Crown Center Ice Terrace.

Last, but certainly not least, there will also be a Santa Meet N’ Greet at the Zoo.

You can find Santa alongside Mrs. Claus at the Kansas City Zoo on Dec. 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. So, if you know of someone who is interested in meeting a very jolly, very giving, portly man, take them down to the Kansas City Zoo.

In addition to Santa Claus and his wife, you can also visit the zoo just to take a look at the animals. There will be penguins, lions, sloths, and so much more. Have a Merry Christmas and Jolly New Year!
