A family should consider enrolling their child in the Baby Jays Preschool because it issues a handful of benefits concerning its preschoolers, as they undergo structured lessons, and spend one-on-one time with their teachers, in FACS teacher Rochelle Netten’s Child Development 2 classes. Netten is the director of this class, however, high school students take charge as they help to guide the preschoolers. Not to mention, this program is extremely beneficial to parents, seeing as though the cost is a total of $50.
Alongside every preschooler is a teacher who is ready and available for their preschoolers to get the quality one-on-one time that they so deserve.
“The teacher-to-preschooler ratio is much higher than a typical preschooler,” Netten said. “We might have ten baby jays, but I also have ten high school students, so there is a lot of one-on-one interaction time with the children.”
In addition, this class provides life skills, in terms of preschoolers, that can help them to adapt to a school setting sooner.
“The main thing we’re focused on are the social skills,” Netten said. “We want them to learn sharing, taking turns, following directions, raising hands, how to be in a line, learning responsibilities.”
Parents also gain well-earned time away from their child, if needed.
“We are shorter compared to a typical preschool,” Netten said. “Even if they look at it as a mom’s day out, it's a way for them to get a couple hour break if they are a stay-at-home mom or parent.”
The Baby Jays Preschool begins on Monday, Feb. 27 and the hours are 7:15 a.m. to 10:02 a.m.
