As a school counselor, Dr. Tneisha Love works with the class of 2025. Not only is she a counselor but she is a cheer coach, a trusting adult, and a loving person. She has been a counselor for 15 years in total. Two of those years have been at Raytown High School. She followed in her dad's footsteps and became a counselor.

During this time of the year, she is very busy changing schedules and making sure everyone is taking classes that are required to graduate.Students go to her office to get approval of things such as changing classes, and wanting to be Teachers Assistant.

Love starts her day off by making a to-do list of everything she needs to do for that day. Making sure she has all her meetings on there, and making sure her students that need to meet with her are on the list.

“My favorite part about being a counselor is watching the kids grow and succeed,” Love said.

She meets with kids throughout the day and they do check-ins with her. She meets with students to make sure they are doing well in classes and also mentally too.

Throughout the day she is monitoring the hallways and checking off things on her to-do list, making sure everything for the day gets done. Then she does her after school duties such as bus duties and wrapping up things to get ready for the games.

“Being a cheer coach and counselor gets heavy sometimes but I just try not to let things pile up,” Love said.

To speak with her, email her at tneisha.love@raytownschools.org or schedule an appointment to meet with her in the counseling office.
